Peace has been broken.
Cadeyrn, a former member of Samara, has left the pack. With a farewell full of malice, he has announced that he is going to form a new pack and will one day return to destroy the rest of the wolves of Sorrento. His pack, the Malfasiant, has made its claim in the canyons and consists of only the strongest of wolves - elementals and masters, mostly males. Females are taken as prisoners for the brutes' enjoyment, and males are taken as toys for them to brutally beat. Force-breeding and murder are everyday things.
Samara and Nahal are left in worried anticipation for what the future might bring. Loners and rogues are getting nervous, lashing out at anyone they don't know. Safety is a privilege that has been lost.
